My life in Denmark: April - Spring Break

So far I have no other notes from April than the one week spring break. There are so many things that I remember and are not supposed to be shown, but lets face it, noone reads this. xD Maybe one day I'm gonna work on this more, but rn it's more like a relax activity thing. May you enjoy this one, it should be less toxic than the other ones ;).

13-15.4. ODENSE
Odense is a city/town in Denmark. It was our fist destination in our spring break trip. It is a place, where H. C. Andersen was born (or spent a part of his childhood, I didnt really catch this one). We got accomodation for two nights through arbnb, but since it was in a student dorm, we figured its not really a legal action from our host. Btw, the student dorm was a former hospital, which was scary in some moments.

Odense has a bit fairy tale vibe. Maybe it’s because of Andersen.

Malene is illegal and we live in a hospital. It’s scary but exciting.

Ducks are everywhere.

„Do they have bread? ... And do they have a bread for poor people?“

Hans Christian Andersen was a very interesting guy. Melancholic, happy, dreamy, reserved, ballanced...  We love hans. We followed Hans’s steps and he was a very interesting man.
I liked his mental photography:
occupation: dreaming life away
who would i most like to be if not myself: h.c. andersen
my idea of happiness: contentment
what i fear the most: myself

(26.8. note: im thinking that contentment is a passive, calm form of happiness. it makes you so peacefull, there is no place for a negative feeling. and absence of negativity, can be concidered happiness)

I think he was calm, melancholic man who felt safer in his own fantasy than in the world around him. That could have led him to creating those worlds and fairy tales where he felt better and where he could reflect himself and his life – troubles and desired happiness. I’d like to ask him a couple of questions.

15.-16.4. COPENHAGEN

The CPH accomodation story. How many times have I narrated that? Well, here we go again! You know, we woke up at 6 to get from Odense to CPH. And walking for an hour.
When arrived, we walked the whole time and then walked almost two hours to get to our accommodation to Michael, around 6PM. To kindly find out, that airbnb cancelled our reservation, informing us about it by an email in russian. Sent that same day at 4PM. Someone else, Pierre, already booked that room immediatly, so we, poor kids, had no place to stay. In the end, after endless hours on a phone with airbnb, thinking of sleeping on a street or next to Michaels dog, we ended up living with Gabriella and her lithuanian husband. That was good in the end. But like, what the hell just happened there.

If I could define Copenhagen in one word, it would be exhausting. But they had the gay flag, so at least thats a pro.

MALMÖ 16-21.4.

I feel way more me and excited in Sweden than in Denmark. Sweden feels brighter than Denmark. It makes me feel brighter as well.
If i should describe Malmö as a person, it would be that kind of hot bad boy that breaks girls‘ hearts.
I made instant curry rice for breakfast... yes.

Notes written down from Malmö church:
- they leave the candles there, they dont throw them away
- openminded workers
- rainbow flag
- white walls
- angry priest teasing piano
- they have a frikkin ship
- people are loud
- two men welcomed each other with a happy hug

Gay flags everywhere. On one hand i like it, on the other, im worried it is just political and not about supporting equality.

We have a good riddle about Sara, our host. What we concluded so far: she has a gf in Spain, who has two children, and her sister got married and has a child. The only thing that remains is the guy with sunglasses. Maybe he's famous.

GOTHENBURG 18.4.

We met my swedish people. It didnt feel like a first visit. It totally felt like meeting again.

Visiting GTB felt like going back in time, to the previous century of socialism, grey building and industrial city centres.

People seem much less dangerous if you look at them as an individuals, not as a group.

LUND 20.4.

Lund is very bright and shiny, yellow and green, warm and welcoming. Very small, motherish, parent like and feels like a nest.

After that we had fieldstudy in Låsby. :)
